Can WoTLK gear still be obtained for use in PvP?

When Cataclysm was released, many people assumed that with the lack of a true world PvP zone in the game, that WoTLK gear would become obsolete. Thankfully, that is not the case. While the Battlegrounds in Cataclysm do not drop gear of the same quality as what is found in WoTLK, it is still possible to get gear from the previous expansion if you know where to look.

The first place to look for gear is, of course, the Auction House. While the gear that is available on the Auction House is not going to be as good as what you could get from raiding or running Battlegrounds, it is still a great place to start if you are looking for WoTLK gear. Many people have not yet jumped into Cataclysm and are still using their old gear, so you may be able to find some good deals if you look around.

Another great place to look for gear is in the new world PvP zone, Tol Barad. Tol Barad is a great place to get gear because it drops gear that is on par with what you would find in a raid. The only downside to Tol Barad is that it is not always available, as it goes through a phases where it is open and then closed. However, when it is open, it is definitely worth checking out.

The last place to look for gear is in the new PvE raid, Dragon Soul. While the gear that is available in Dragon Soul is not as good as what you would find in a raid, it is still a great place to get gear. The main reason to get gear from Dragon Soul is because it is a raid that is current content, so the gear is always up-to-date.
