Overview

The Beta for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is currently underway and you can join in the testing by following the steps below. Please note that there are a limited number of keys available and they are being distributed on a first come, first served basis. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Step One: Check the Beta Profile Page

First and foremost, you’ll need to check the Beta Profile Page to ensure your Blizzard account is eligible for Beta access. This is a new feature that was implemented with the release of Warlords of Draenor, so if you’re returning to the Beta after an absence, you may need to create a beta profile. To do so, simply log in to your Blizzard account and visit the Beta Profile Page. From here, you can opt-in to any Beta you’re eligible for, as well as provide additional information Blizzard can use to send you targeted surveys.

Step Two: Check Your Email

If you’re eligible for the Beta and you’ve opted in, you should receive an email from us with your Beta key and instructions on how to download and install the Beta client. Please be sure to check your spam filters if you don’t see the email in your inbox.

If you receive an error message after trying to opt in, or you don’t receive an email within 24 hours of opting in, please check the Beta Profile Page to see if you’ve been selected.

Step Three: Install the Beta Client

Once you have your Beta key, you’re ready to install the Beta client. If you don’t already have the Blizzard Battle.net desktop app, you’ll need to download and install it.

Once the Blizzard Battle.net app is installed, log in with your Blizzard account credentials. If you don’t have a Blizzard account, you can create one for free.

Click the icon for World of Warcraft in the left column.

Click the Beta: Shadowlands tab.

Click Install to begin the installation process.

Once the installation is complete, click Play to launch the game.
