Shadowlands, the next expansion for World of Warcraft, enters beta testing soon! Here's how you can opt in and get started.

If you're interested in participating in the beta test for Shadowlands, the next expansion for World of Warcraft, there are a few things you need to do. First, make sure you have a Battle.net account and a retail copy of World of Warcraft. If you don't have a Battle.net account, you can create one for free.

Once you have a Battle.net account, log in to it and head to the Code Redemption page. From there, enter the code "SHADOWLANDSBETA" to opt in to the beta. You can find this code on the official World of Warcraft website, or in the Shadowlands beta opt-in email that was sent out to eligible players.

Once you've entered the code, you'll be able to download the beta client from the Battle.net desktop app. Make sure you have enough space on your hard drive for the beta client, as it's around 30GB. Once the beta client is installed, you'll be able to create a character and start playing!

The beta test for Shadowlands will be divided into two phases. The first phase, which is scheduled to begin on August 11, will focus on testing the new features and systems introduced in the expansion. The second phase, which doesn't have a start date yet, will be a stress test to help the Blizzard servers prepare for the launch of Shadowlands.
