World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is the second expansion set for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following The Burning Crusade. It was announced on August 3, 2007, at BlizzCon 2007, and released on November 13, 2008. Wrath of the Lich King's major content additions are an increase in level cap to level 80, additional character customization options, the introduction of the Death Knight hero class, improvements to the game's artificial intelligence (AI) system, and the game's first three-dimensional (3D) environment.

The expansion pack's storyline centers around the Lich King, the game's primary antagonist. Blizzard's CEO and co-founder, Mike Morhaime, has said that Wrath of the Lich King is not only the largest expansion pack produced for World of Warcraft, but is the largest expansion for any MMO to date. The expansion pack was available for preorder on June 9, 2008, and its release was announced for November 13, 2008. It sold 2.8 million copies within the first 24 hours of its release, making it the fastest selling computer game of all time released at that time.

On July 22, 2009, an announcement was made at Gamescom that a new expansion is currently in development, titled Cataclysm. The expansion's focus is the return of two high-profile races: the orcish Horde and the undead Scourge. Cataclysm was released on December 7, 2010.
